David Lent, a member of the Bishop Paiute Tribe, brings more than 40 years of diverse professional experience to his role as Zone IV representative on the Northern Inyo Healthcare District (NIHD) Board of Directors.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lent has held numerous leadership positions. He served for three years as Executive Director for Indian Dispute Resolution Services, where he became a certified mediator fostering collaboration and resolving disputes. He continues to provide dispute resolution training services as well as mediations. Mr. Lent also spent 15 years as Chief Executive Officer for the Toiyabe Indian Health Project, overseeing healthcare services that benefited both tribal and non-native communities across Inyo and Mono counties.
As an owner/partner in a small business, DNR Consulting, LLC, Mr. Lent provides technical assistance in healthcare administration as well as tribal administrative functions. He has also been responsible for securing more than $12 million in Federal and State grant funding for clients in the past five years. Mr. Lent has also held senior leadership roles with organizations such as the Owens Valley Career Development Center, the Owens Valley Housing Authority, and the Bishop Indian Education Center.
Elected to the NIHD board in November 2024, Mr. Lent and his wife, Darcia, reside in Bishop.
